Frequently Asked Questions

I am interested in having Dr. Zervas consult / present to my school or organization - what is the first step?
This process would begin with an initial call to discuss your specific ideas and needs. From there, pricing for various services would be reviewed and scheduling would occur. Dr. Zervas is available to consult with and present to schools and organizations both in person and virtually.
Where do therapy sessions and supervision take place?
Dr. Zervas meets with clients virtually and offers telehealth sessions via a secure, HIPAA compliant video platform for clients located in Massachusetts.
How often do sessions occur and how long is each session?
Therapy and coaching sessions will typically occur weekly and last 45 minutes. Specific frequency and duration of sessions will be determined upon initial meeting and modified as needed over the course of treatment. A typical course of treatment is 12-20 sessions but can vary based on client need.
Peer supervision typically lasts for 1 hour but can vary depending on the needs of the client
In order for therapy to be maximally effective, regular attendance at sessions is necessary. To ensure that clients are receiving the appropriate treatment, it is expected that clients attend at least 75% of scheduled sessions.
Do you accept insurance for therapy and coaching?
Dr. Zervas does not bill insurance companies directly and is not affiliated with any insurance networks. However, some insurance plans may offer partial reimbursement for services provided by out-of-network providers. We recommend contacting your insurance company to inquire about your specific plan's out-of-network coverage for behavioral health services to learn about reimbursement rates, deductibles, and any mental health benefits available to you. If your plan offers out-of-network coverage, Dr. Zervas can provide the necessary documentation for you to submit for reimbursement.
Some questions you could ask your insurance company:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health coverage?
If so, what percentage is covered?
Is teletherapy/telehealth covered by my plan?
Do I have a deductible? What is it and how much of it have I met?
What is the co-pay for a session if I see an out-of-network provider?
How do I submit a request for reimbursement?
What is the reimbursement for CPT codes 90834, 90846, and 90791?
Payment is expected at the time of appointment.
Please contact Dr. Zervas for information about session rates.
Is there a cancellation policy for therapy/coaching/supervision?
Dr. Zervas has a 24-hour cancellation policy. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice (outside of extenuating circumstances), the client will be charged the full session fee.
