Dr. Zervas provides consultation to educational institutions on their mental health services and wellness education offerings. She has supported schools and programs as they have increased their clinicians, created wellness education departments, and redesigned the wellness services offered to their community.
Parenting and caregiving often require additional support to effectively navigate the inevitable challenges they present. Dr. Zervas collaborates with parents and caregivers to enhance their understanding of childhood behaviors and equip them with evidence-based skills to navigate various developmental stages and strengthen family relationships. These may include navigating sleep routines, family transitions, anxiety, and limit-setting among others.
Dr. Zervas specializes in providing therapy that is active, problem-focused, and personalized. Her clinical work is rooted in treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) that are evidence-based - that is to say that there is strong research support indicating that these types of therapy are effective at reducing problematic thoughts, feelings, and behaviors associated with a variety of diagnoses and problem areas. Her goal is to utilize these therapies to improve the quality of life for her clients. Dr. Zervas also takes a relational approach in her work, valuing the clinical relationship alongside the learning of skills and building of insight.
Teaching and presenting have always been an enjoyable part of Dr. Zervas’ career. She presents to independent schools and other organizations on various mental health related topics. These presentations can be geared toward students or adult faculty and staff as desired and may take place virtually or in person.
